The simple answer is we make shoes that you imagine and design. The long-standing traditions of Italian shoe craftsmanship are the centerpiece of our uncompromising commitment to quality. And while shoemaking has been our trade for generations, the concept of Lacci Shoes is rejuvenating and fresh as a morning sea breeze engulfing the coastal hills of the Emilia-Romagna region in Northern Italy, the place where Lacci Shoes was born.
The genesis of Lacci shoes, just like many other ideas in life, was a product of pure chance. It was a story of our friend who was on a week-long business trip in Ravenna. While meeting us for dinner he confessed he was feeling uneasy these days being away from his family. They had two small children at home and he knew his wife had a difficult time without him. He wanted to bring her something special from Italy but he couldn’t quite figure out what it should be. He showed us a picture of a beautiful woman with two adorable toddlers. She wore a gorgeous floral dress on the picture. At that moment I had an idea, and I shared it with him. I offered to make shoes for his wife that would perfectly match her dress as I had the material with a nearly identical pattern.
Two weeks later I received a thank-you card from his wife with another picture attached. The note under the picture read: “This is my sister’s favorite outfit. Can you make the shoes for her as well?”
The rest is history and that’s how Lacci Shoes was born.
We give another meaning to comfort and to the expression of color. We hand make each shoe with meticulous care and personal focus. We match your individual choice with our top-quality product. Custom-made also means each shoe has its own individuality and distinction, just like the people who choose them.
When we receive your request for your desired creation, we immediately begin working. It starts with creating the pattern and cutting out the upper leathers according to the required size and model. The creation of the pattern is made with the help of the hardwood last (a 3D dimensional foot-shaped mechanical form) designed for each customer’s unique size measurements.
We then flatten the edges of the cut-out leather material to ensure neat joins between the different pieces as well as an elegant high-quality finish.
Then we construct the upper by preparing the toe and the back pieces separately first as well as the leather lining. These parts are then fitted and stitched together with durable nylon thread according to your desired color.
The sole is hand assembled next. This is a process of bonding soft leather inner sole with a layer of welt and then attaching it to the coutchouce outsole.
The following step is lasting the shoe. This is a crucial step as it will determine how the shoes will ultimately fit and feel on a customer’s foot. The upper is then bonded and hand-stitched to the sole.
The final step is to trim away all excess material and clean the shoe. They are ready for shipment to the owner!
In addition to Italian craftsmanship, we take pride in locally sourcing all of our materials. That means when we say our shoes are made in Italy we really mean it!
We use only high quality real leather meticulously selected to ensure unparallel softness, fine grain, and durability.
We use caoutchouc, also known as natural rubber in our soles. Caoutchouc is made from the sap of the rubber tree. It is completely natural and doesn’t contain any PVC, phthalates or other harmful chemicals. Caoutchouc is famous for its high stretch ratio, durability, and resilience. All of these attributes make caoutchouc a perfect choice to contribute to an outstanding shoe-wearing experience.
Create the shoes to match any wardrobe … this was our motto from the start. You can mix and match to your heart’s desire or simply push the limits of your imagination. Whatever the case may be, Lacci Shoes is a shoo-in for meeting your needs.
